ENVE SES 2.2 NBT rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured in compliance with the highest quality requirements at the company's headquarters in Utah. The engineers at ENVE have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE everything is done to use the advantages of carbon and to eliminate its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible use of the material thickness. This principle has been perfected with the spoke holes, in that continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, as are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows much higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
The rim has an NBT braking surface made entirely of carbon with a structured surface, which offers an incredibly high, consistent braking performance in wet and dry conditions and reduces the braking force on the levers by up to 30%.
ENVE aluminum hubs
A forged aluminum blank is turned into a lightweight hub shell by a CNC lathe. The newly developed hub flanges avoid premature fatigue of the spokes and there is also the special lacing for greater rigidity and simultaneous weight savings.
In order to ensure a smooth, fast rolling behavior of the aluminum road hub, it has special, high-quality bearing shells and balls made of stainless steel, which guarantee intended use The outer bearings are completely sealed to keep out any dirt. Contactless seals are used inside the hub to reduce rolling resistance.
Thanks to Perfect Preload technology, maintenance costs are further minimized and the service life of the bearings is noticeably extended. The bearing play does not have to be set or readjusted.
The toothed pulley freewheel is 40 times toothed and, compared to the pawl freewheel, offers faster frictional engagement, lower weight and more ease of maintenance.
Sapim CX-Ray spokes
Sapim CX-Ray spokes are so-called knife spokes. The middle part is butted to a diameter of 1.5 mm during production and forged flat in the last work step. These processes solidify the structure and produce extremely durable spokes.
