The 45 FOUNDATION COLLECTION wheelset was developed for price-conscious riders who feel comfortable in mountainous terrain, but also want to make speed on the flat. It is light, stiff and stable. The rim height of 45 mm offers a good compromise between weight and aerodynamics. The developers spent many hours in the wind tunnel until the final shape of the rim was established. Together with the ENVE own hubs and the Sapim spokes you will have a lot of fun with it.

rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured to the highest quality standards at the headquarters in Utah. The ENVE engineers have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE, everything is done to use the advantages of carbon and eliminate its disadvantages. Stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible utilization of the material strengths. This principle was perfected in the spoke holes, in which continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, which are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows significantly higher spoke tensions, which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels. The FOUNDATION COLLECTION rims offer excellent aerodynamics. This is optimized for tires with a width of 25 mm to 28 mm. The use of tubeless systems is recommended, which can be implemented very effectively and safely thanks to the hookless construction. The latter also increases resistance if you do hit an edge hard.

hubs
The road bike, gravel and cyclocross disc hub that rightly bears the name ENVE - because it takes performance to a new level compared to the current leading competitors. This hub enables the construction of even more efficient wheels, with better power transmission and greater reliability thanks to the low-maintenance and robust construction.
The aluminum body rotates on reliable and smooth-running steel ball bearings. Thanks to the Perfect Preload™ technology, maintenance has been minimized and the service life of the bearings has been noticeably extended. As a result, the bearing play does not have to be set or readjusted.
The toothed disc freewheel on the rear axle has 40 teeth and, compared to the pawl freewheel, offers faster traction, lower weight and greater ease of maintenance.

spokes
Sapim CX-Sprint spokes are so-called knife spokes. The middle section is butted to a diameter of 1.25 mm during production and forged flat in the last step. These processes strengthen the structure and produce extremely durable and light spokes.
