Duke's MADMAX SP hubs are the perfect pivot point for light, stiff and durable wheels.
The CNC machined and then black anodized hub body made of 7075 T6 aluminum rotates around four 6902 2RS deep groove ball bearings, which sit on a stiff 15 mm axle and are double sealed. All bearings are placed as far outboard as possible for stable support, which creates additional rigidity. The geometry of the spoke flanges has been optimized in terms of diameter and spoke angle in order to reduce the stress on the spoke heads to a minimum.
The DUKE MADMAX SP hub with its 201g weight is a lightweight among the rear wheel hubs. A special feature of the hub is the freewheel body made of titanium grade 5 (Ti6Al4V). Thanks to the excellent properties of the material, the teeth could be milled directly into the freewheel body and the number of moving parts was reduced to a special spring and the toothed washer in the hub body. The 40-fold toothing results in a maximum idle travel of 9° and is extremely large with a diameter of 35 mm. The large diameter allows optimal torque transmission and the hub is therefore also approved for use in e-bikes.
A fundamental point for the reliability of your new hub is the protection from the elements. The special seal between the hub shell and the freewheel body guarantees optimal protection against dirt and water with smooth running that is second to none.
From the first draft to the finished hub, all steps are completely realized in Europe. Selected partners turn, mill, anodize and laser engrave the individual parts of the hub according to Duke's strict specifications. The final assembly and final quality control takes place in the French region of Vendeé and guarantees you a perfect product at all times.
