DT Swiss FR 541 rim
This rim is the ideal basis for an indestructible wheel. During development, particular attention was paid to impact resistance and the prevention of abrupt loss of air. To achieve this, the rim flange has been reinforced and made slightly wider. Nevertheless, the weight is within the acceptable range. In addition, the enormous inner width gives the tire perfect support, which prevents it from buckling in fast corners and ensures more driving stability. The typically DT Swiss high-quality workmanship and the welded rim joint guarantee the rim a long service life. In addition, the shot-blasted surface largely protects against stone chips, so that it appears as good as new even after many downhill runs.
DT Swiss 240 EXP hub
DT Swiss always manages to improve what is good. This also applies to the popular 240 hub. In contrast to the previous model, it is even lighter, stiffer and easier to maintain. The use of materials has been optimized and the weight has been reduced. Bearings located slightly further out ensure the hub body's high rigidity, which is reflected in more direct steering behavior. In addition, the reinforced flanges transmit the braking forces more evenly to all spokes and make the wheel more stable and durable.
The EXP toothed disc freewheel ensures unrestrained propulsion. 36 locking points and a large contact area guarantee extremely direct and reliable power transmission.
The high-quality stainless steel industrial ball bearings, which carry out their work inconspicuously over many thousands of kilometers, guarantee you low maintenance. The exact fit and good seal make you almost forget their existence. After all, you're supposed to be driving and not just tinkering.
DT Swiss Competition spokes with DT ProLock Squorx ProHead nipples
The competition spokes used also show no weaknesses. They have a high level of strength thanks to the cold forging process during their production, but also have a certain degree of flexibility thanks to the butted middle section. This allows them to absorb hard blows without being damaged. In addition, a lot of weight is saved.
The spokes are connected to the rim using the DT ProLock Squorx ProHead aluminum nipples. With these, a two-component adhesive is injected into the thread. This activates during assembly and hardens after 6-7 hours. This means that loosening of the spokes is almost impossible and a long-term stable wheel is guaranteed. Re-centering is still possible at any time without any problems. They also have a spherical contact surface, which allows the nipple to automatically align with the spoke angle. This enables a better flow of force and prevents tilting in the rim well.
