DT SWISS damper X 212 OL
The X 212 damper can quickly be adapted to the intended use with its OL (Open Lock) damping system. It offers 2 different driving modes from fully open for maximum performance over the full travel until completely blocked (lockout) for very fast passages.
The air spring is filled through only one valve for the positive and negative chamber. The spring characteristic is optimized for this concept already in the factory and the air pressure must only be adapted to the driver's weight. In keeping with the spring characteristic and the damping was recalibrated.
New for the 2015 model year, the SAB (Smooth auto-balancing) is System. This term conceals only an overflow valve on the shock outside. This ensures a pressure balance between positive and negative air chamber whenever the damper travels over a recess during compression. The aim is an even more sensitive response can be achieved.
The damper eyes are equipped with all DT Swiss dampers with ball joints. These reduce the lateral loads on the dampers as they are created by imperfect fit the frame. As a result, reduces friction in the rubber bushings, the response is improved, minimizing the wear of the bushes.
