"A clean chain for everyone" is the motto of the young company CYCLOWAX. The Shimano chain is pre-waxed and is specially designed for the XT M8100 and Ultegra 8100 chainrings and cassettes. The chain harmonises perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) Narrow-Wide tooth profiles of the new Deore XT chainrings thanks to the millings on the inside of the link plates. The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the smoother running of the chain is not only noticeable when pedaling, but is also expressed acoustically through a quieter drive. Thanks to a new chromed surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain could be kept at the level of the M8000 chain, despite the smaller outer width. The wax forms a transparent, smooth coating and keeps the chain clean, ie no more dirty hands and annoying cleaning and easy transport without chainring tattoos. Thanks to the reduced friction, you save energy and at the same time extend the service life of your drive. This saves money and protects the environment. In order to get a smooth-running drive, the chain should be waxed after approx. 250 km in everyday use. In addition, re-waxing after wet rides is recommended.
Note : Check your chain regularly with a chain tester and replace it as soon as the wear limit of 0.5% is reached. To wax the chain again, the device Cyclowax-Heater is required.
