CHALLENGE tire Criterium RS PRO 28" | 700 x 27C TLR black/white
The Criterium RS is Challenge's ultimate performance tire. Its extremely supple 350 TPI cotton carcass, the new Smartprime rubber compound and the manual production ensure the lowest rolling resistance, optimal damping properties and excellent grip in all road conditions. For the necessary puncture protection, the tire is equipped with Challenges Puncture Protection System (PPS Ganzo).
Corespun cotton casing
The cotton carcass of the Criterium RS is naturally much more supple than a conventional nylon carcass. This property is supported by the extremely high thread density of 350 TPI.
Smart prime compound
The extremely flexible Smartprime rubber compound of the tread significantly reduces the rolling resistance of the Criterium RS and ensures high grip on dry and wet roads. Smartprime excels particularly in the border areas where other materials fail. This is also ensured by the production from natural rubber.
Handmade Tubeless (H-TLR)
In contrast to a classic vulcanized tubeless tire, the Challenge H-TLR tires are not manufactured as a U-profile, but come out of the packaging completely flat. This shape allows the carcass to follow bumps more naturally, reducing rolling resistance. An inner coating from the tire bead to the tire bead ensures the excellent tubeless properties and also increases puncture protection.
Puncture Protection System (PPS Ganzo)
Is a light and highly flexible extra layer made of a finely woven multi-component material, which is incorporated between the tread and the carcass. It effectively prevents the risk of punctures by thorns or broken glass without negatively affecting the outstanding rolling properties of the tyre.
Chafer Protection Strip
These reinforced strips on the tire beads and the lower part of the sidewalls protect the tire from possible damage caused by sharp-edged carbon rims. In addition, the layer ensures a better tire fit.
cylon bead
The reinforced, non-stretch Zylon tire beads ensure a significantly higher load capacity of the tire. Zylon thermoplastic material is 1.6 times stronger than Kevlar side beads.
Note: Challenge tires should not be mounted on rims that do not meet ETRTO and ISO standards. A maximum pressure of 5 bar (109 PSI) must not be exceeded on hookless rims.
