CANNONDALE fork 29 "Lefty 2.0 aluminum PBR 100mm

The lefty has for years been one of the references in cover to stiffness and damping performance. Lefty 2.0 comes with numerous enhancements and optimizations.

Why is a lefty so easily?

Simply because the one-arm double-bridge design with less material makes do as a normal fork with 2 fork arms. All necessary components are in a fork arm into place and material can be used specifically as where the stresses are greatest. The OPI Technology (One Piece Integration), with the components that were previously composed of 2 different parts, now consist of one member, saves additional weight and increases stiffness.

Why is the Lefty rigid?

The stiffness of the Lefty based on 5 points: The double bridge, the large pipe diameters that upside-down design, the 4-squared connection of Stand and dip tube and the OPI technology. The double bridge structure directs the forces evenly into the oversized head tube from which this then initiates into the frame. In a standard fork, this force-transmitting only happens on a yoke which the force is applied unevenly. The upside-down design relocates the stable components of the fork upwards where the largest forces occur. Head tube (1.56 ") and the standpipe (46 mm) increase the rigidity prevail over telescopic forks with 1 1/8" steerer. Another unique feature is the combination of state and stillwells here lies a 4-square tube in a 4-square tube and these are connected by the 60 needle bearings (4 strips with 15 needles) and a plain bearing. These two tubes are forced by their shape to deform together which increases the rigidity again. The OPI technology on the one hand reduces the weight enables complex components from one piece to manufacture and thus adapt it to the stresses and not isolated to do this for 2 components, which are then also as stable as possible to each other.

Why Lefty responds better?

The answer lies in the built-in each Lefty needle bearings. A normal front fork runs normally on 4 Bushings a 29er Lefty "rolls" to 60 needle bearings. Thus saith the fork to significantly faster and more sensitive.
From model year 2013, the completely revised telescope unit with "Sealed Hybrid Needle Bearing Technology" which bearings and needle roller bearings for improved sealing and optimized response is connecting. Furthermore, the needle bearing of Lefty's are equipped with a self resetting function, which ensures the full stroke of the telescope in the long run without restriction. To coarse dirt and stone to reduce "fire" now has a Fender in motocross style on the equipment.

PBR (Push-Button Rebound) equipped models come with easy, on the shortest path from the handlebar grip on the fork crown achievable, manual key-lockout and externally adjustable rebound. The Lefty 2.0 PBR has an aluminum standpipe unit and an OPI-tube assembly (axle and dip tube are forged from one piece of aluminum). The fork is designed for disc brakes up to 203mm.

An axial offset (offset) of 55 mm combined with a flat rake allows smooth running at top speed as well as maneuverability at low speeds.
The damper of the fork has been revised and has now received a high-flow piston with a XC vote.

With its 100mm travel it is ideal for XC and Marathon inserts on hardtail or full suspension mountain bike.
