Description
CANE CREEK bearing seat ring for plain bearings AER Race Day Norglide® Composite Bearing
The AER series headsets have long been considered the lightest in the world - now the high-end steel-aluminum hybrid ball-bearing sets are available. In addition to the increase in durability, around 40% less weight is saved compared to comparable models. This advantage is made possible by the targeted use of materials and specific machining strategies - always with the goal of an uncompromising headset for road and mountain bikes.
With the Norglide ® plain bearing you can replace the ball bearing in the upper part of the headset and save weight again. The basis of the sliding bearing is an aluminum ring which is sandwiched with a friction-reducing PTFE tape and an elastomer. CANE CREEK recommends the use of plain bearings only for the road bike.
Note: The bearing seat ring, in conjunction with the plain bearing, allows retrofitting of the standard steel / aluminum hybrid ball bearings of the AER series to slide bearing operation. The wear part in this composite forms the plain bearing and can be replaced individually in case of wear.
