CANE CREEK damper Double Barrel Air CS - XVOL
The Double Barrel Air CS is seen not only as a pure downhill damper, but is ideal thanks to its unique set-up options for the all-mountain and enduro use.
The XVOL variant (Extra Volume) ensures greater linearity at very progressive rear stays.
Basically, the damper of the steel spring version Double Barrel is similar. All setting parameters (low / high speed compression, low / high-speed rebound, air pressure, Climb switch) can be changed separately and above all independent. This allows fine tuning of the suspension to every conceivable situation and every surface.
The major disadvantage of hard working air dampers is the overheating and the resulting hardening of the damping. While other manufacturers improved by a plastic insert heat dissipation, overheating at the "Double Barrel Air CS" occurs due to design not even occur.
This has a twin tube system, ie the oil circulates constantly in a circle and not only pushed back and forth as with other manufacturers. Thus significantly more heat is released and the damper always keeps his fine response and a constant damping.
Furthermore, there is no Custom Valving more, so the setting of the valves by the manufacturer.
Through the oil circulation system, the adjustment range is significantly greater than with other manufacturers.
So the damper can be most exactly even set by the bikers on each wheel and every style and adapted.
Another innovation is the Climb Switch technology. In Uphill mode, the paddles of the wheel is successfully suppressed in Lowspeedbereich. Thus, the traction at the same time increases and it also helps to have the driver's forces protected. The special feature: the Climb Switch Technology engages toward compression and rebound of the damper, which makes this system extremely efficient.
The "DB Air CS" is also perfectly suited for old frame, which one so still can elicit unexpected performance. The adjustment of the valves is done with a special key supplied.
Another handy feature provides Cane Creek on his website. If you have problems with the various tuning options of the damper is under http://ww2.canecreek.com/products/suspension/db-air/base-tunes
