BRAKESTUFF Punch Disc 6-hole brake disc for E-Bike | 203mm
Optimum heat management, high-quality materials and a complex manufacturing process are the ingredients for a reliable and durable brake disc. The idea came from Intend BC founder Cornelius Kapfinger, implemented and manufactured at BrakeSTUFF, a small innovative forge for bike parts from the Saxon town of Amtsberg not far from Chemnitz.
In order to achieve the best possible braking performance, the contact surfaces of the punch disc for the brake pads have been optimally designed. Since the material for brake discs has to meet the highest requirements, only high-alloy stainless steel can be considered. After the complex processing by laser, the material is refined with appropriate heat treatment, subsequent vacuum hardening and optionally by glass bead blasting. This enables the perfect hardness and surface structure to be achieved and ensures high braking effect, stability and minimal noise development.
Many small holes instead of large recesses in the braking surface help to distribute the heat evenly, and thanks to the approximately 30% larger surface, it is dissipated again much faster. The risk of brake fading, for example on long and steep downhill rides, is reduced to a minimum.
With the new design, some areas of the brake disc have been optimized again. The area of the 6-hole mount has been reinforced and the bore diameter in the friction ring has been adapted to the respective disc thickness. Thus, the maximum possible cooling surface is achieved with the best possible power transmission. A magnet mount for mounting a speed sensor has also been integrated.
In-house testing procedures and successful top results according to DIN EN ISO 4210-2:2015-12 and the strict EU standard Q2015 guarantee the consistent and high quality of the BrakeSTUFF Punch Disc. Well-known manufacturers such as Rohloff, Schindelhauer Bikes, Poison Bikes and Specialized recommend it the BrakeSTUFF brake discs are therefore available as accessories and special tuning parts for their products.
