BLACKseries chainrings have special teeth that prevent the chain from jumping off. The principle follows that of the SRAM XX1 chainrings. In conjunction with an SRAM Type2 / 3 or Shimano Shadow + rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased cage preload, the chain is reliably held in position even without a chain guide.
