BERG wheelset 29" Ratheberg 30 Carbon BOOST 1170g
The founders of the young BERG brand started with a simple mission: They wanted to develop the best possible lightweight products for ambitious MTB marathon and cross-country riders at an affordable price. In order to be prepared for tough racing use, no compromises were made in terms of durability when developing the BERG components. Behind the brand is a small team of committed mountain bikers, engineers and bike mechanics from Belgium.
The BERG Ratheberg wheelset is in the top league of lightweight wheels for XC use. The wheels are built around the in-house pair of BERG hubs, which with a total weight of just under 300 grams form a perfect starting point. The aluminum hubs impress visually with their elegant straight pull design and white lasered BERG logo. But the hubs also know how to impress with their inner values. The built-in SKF bearings ensure long durability and low frictional resistance. A toothed disc freewheel with 45 locking points per wheel revolution guarantees instant acceleration and quick response in technically demanding passages. BERG uses 6 toothed disc springs for even power transmission. In addition to the built-in XD freewheel body, a Shimano Micro Spline compatible freewheel body is optionally available. If the hubs need servicing, they can be disassembled in just a few steps without any special tools.
The ultra-light Ratheberg carbon rims rotate around the hubs. Their combination of an above-average inner width of 30 millimeters with a weight of only 290 grams (100 kg weight limit version) is record-breaking. In practice, this results in wheels that are extremely easy to accelerate and tires that run very stably, even at very low air pressures. In addition, the large inner width allows you to drive tires with a width of up to 2.7". The tubeless inner profile ensures that the tire sits securely on the hookless rim. The low weight of the hand-made rims was partly due to the relatively low profile height of only 21 millimeters can be realized.The asymmetrical spoke holes with an offset of 2 millimeters ensure the necessary rigidity in the wheel.A reinforced rim bed provides the spoke nipples with secure support and makes the wheels more stable.
The wheels are laced with Spaim CX-Ray bladed spokes at BERG in Belgium.
In order to guarantee the safety of your components, all BERG components have undergone extensive tests according to the ISO standard in Germany in addition to intensive test drives. In order to guarantee the high quality standards in the long term, the tests are repeated on different product batches.
In addition to the 2-year guarantee, BERG offers a 3-year crash replacement with a 40% discount on all components.
