New name, same passion: the still young Berg brand becomes PORTE. The founders started the brand with a simple mission. They wanted to develop the best possible lightweight products for ambitious MTB marathon and cross-country riders at an affordable price. In order to be equipped for tough racing conditions, no compromises were made in terms of durability when developing the PORTE components. Behind the brand is a small team of dedicated mountain bikers, engineers and bike mechanics from Belgium.
The PORTE Rathe 30 rims play in the absolute top league of lightweight rims for XC racing. Despite their extremely low weight of 290 grams, they have an above-average inner width of 30 millimeters. With these key data, extremely easy-to-accelerate wheels can be realized.In addition, the rim allows tires with a width of up to 2.7" to be used, which can be perfectly supported in the hookless profile. The tubeless inner profile ensures a secure fit of the tire on the hookless rim. The low weight of the handmade rims was made possible by the relatively low profile height of just 21 millimetres. The asymmetrical spoke holes with an offset of 2 millimetres provide the necessary rigidity in the wheel. A reinforced rim bed provides secure support for the spoke nipples and makes the wheels more stable. All these measures allow PORTE to release the Rathe 30 with 290 grams for riders up to a body weight of 100 kilograms.
In order to guarantee the safety of their components, all PORTE components have undergone extensive testing in Germany in accordance with ISO standards, in addition to intensive test rides. In order to guarantee the high quality standards in the long term, the tests are repeated for different product batches.
In addition to the 2-year warranty, PORTE offers a 3-year crash replacement with a 40% discount on all components.
