AMP brake pads Podium metallic for AVID/SRAM Code from 2011 | SRAM Guide RE
The Podium series features an 8-layer Win Shield™ polymer ceramic coating (on a steel backing plate) that prevents brake heat from being conducted into the caliper.
This allows for a 5 to 10 percent heat reduction in the caliper. The main goal is to bring the well-known AMP performance to everyone in terms of price and compatibility.
Metallic coverings
Compared to plastic linings, metal linings offer a higher braking effect, less wear and better temperature stability. However, they tend to generate more noise and increase wear on the brake disc.
